Neuötting

This Inn town was founded by members of the house of Wittelsbach, a ruling noble family, in the middle ages. From whichever side you approach Neuötting, you are always greeted by the silhouette of the town situated on the steep slope of the Innterrasse river terrace. The townscape is dominated by the striking town parish church of St. Nicholas, with its 78 metre-high tower. The most interesting local landmark is the town square, built in the typical Inn-Salzach architectural style. The majority of the bourgeois houses boast decorative false façades, secluded arcades and candle arches. Arcades and inner courtyards are often hidden behind the magnificent façades.
